FAQs
What is a nurse practitioner?
A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who has completed advanced education and training, at the master's or doctoral level. NPs are licensed to diagnose and treat medical conditions, prescribe medications, and provide comprehensive care to patients. NPs emphasize both the treatment and prevention of illnesses, often adopting a holistic approach to patient care.
How do I get started?
To request an appointment, please fill out our appointment form. Alternatively, you can download our app to securely communicate with our staff in real time and request an appointment. Once we connect with you via email or the secure platform, we'll schedule your virtual appointment using your name, birthdate, and email address. You'll receive a secure link to set up your medical chart and a virtual link confirming your appointment. It’s that easy!
Where is your office?
Our office operates virtually from Washington, DC, and Maryland. All visits are conducted through our secure telehealth platform, so you can receive care from the comfort of your home.
Do you take insurance?
No, we do not accept insurance. This allows us to make medical decisions based solely on your needs rather than insurance requirements. However, you can use your flex spending or health savings card to pay for your visit, provided the card has a major credit card logo. Enter your card information when prompted during payment. We can also email you a medical receipt (superbill) for reimbursement upon request.
Can I use my insurance for prescriptions or labs you order?
Yes, you can use your insurance for prescriptions or labs. Simply present your insurance card to the pharmacy or lab when you go. L-Health LLC is not responsible for insurance claims or coverage options regarding prescriptions, labs, or other tests.
What ages do you treat?
We offer medical care for patients aged 2 years and older. Our board-certified and experienced team is here to assist with a wide range of medical needs.
Is there paperwork to be completed?
Yes, all paperwork is completed electronically. You will receive a secure email link to complete the necessary documents, which will set up your medical chart. This paperwork must be completed at the time of booking your appointment which includes payment.
Do I have to pay upfront?
Yes, payment is required at the time of booking your appointment. The fee is non-refundable and will be applied to the cost of your visit. Please refer to our “Services” page for details on our fees.
What is covered by your fees?
Our fee includes medical advice, treatment if necessary, and access to an on-call nurse practitioner for any follow-up questions you may have, either related or unrelated to your visit. Most concerns can be addressed through direct communication with your provider without the need for another visit. If further evaluation is warranted, we will guide you to schedule an additional appointment.
What if I cancel my appointment?
If you provide at least 24 hours' notice, we can reschedule your appointment without penalty and the payment will be applied as a credit to your account to be applied to a future appointment. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment are non-refundable and will not be applied as credit to your account.
What if you cannot offer the treatment I need?
If we are unable to provide the treatment you require, L-Health LLC will connect you with a reputable medical provider or resource that can meet your needs.
If the nurse practitioner feels you need to seek in person evaluation and care for a symptom or potential diagnosis evaluated during the visit, we will refer you to a local Urgent Care or the Emergency Department. There are limitations of telemedicine and the need for an in-person physical exam and provider assessment to assist in determining an accurate diagnosis and implementing an optimal treatment plan. If you decline our recommendation to seek in-person evaluation, you understand that any delay in seeking in person evaluation could lead to delay in diagnosis, worsening infection, prolonged and possibly complicated recovery and permanent disability. This level of decision making requires medical assessment and evaluation of the patient and therefore, your visit will not be refunded.
